In 2015, Diaz Grimm released his debut album ‘Osiris’, a soundtrack to the end of the world. A post-apocalyptic sonic journey that resonated with audiences and critics alike, the success of Osiris saw Diaz nominated for Best Urban/Hip-Hop Album at the New Zealand Music Awards that year. The album topped the NZ iTunes hiphop charts, reached the official NZ Top 20 album charts and became the most upvoted self-posted album in the history of the Reddit/hiphopheads forum. In 2016 became the first self-managed, unsigned artist from New Zealand to ever be invited to play SXSW.

Ruby grew up in a musical family surrounded by instruments, and she initially chose the piano, which, combined with her voice and lyrics, is her prime weapon. She is also a competent guitarist and bassplayer, having played bass in at least two groups, and often switching to guitar during a solo performance. These are powerful and captivating – her voice is full and emotive, projecting lyrics that can cut as easily and often as they soothe, and reinforced by complex, intricate, and expressive music that appears to occur naturally without the slightest trace of effort.
The music falls broadly in the blues/jazz/folk/soul space, and when collaborating with other musicians these themes can evolve and elevate. Her latest project involves EDM producers/DJs, as well as guitarists and other musicians; exploring and expanding on spaces previously occupied by the likes of Concord Dawn.
