indi NZ Tour (CHC) w/ French_concession 法國租界 | Richard Dada

The Christchurch-based experimental electronic artist and composer will be touring four cities in New Zealand as a two-piece act.

Also known for her work as vocalist and co-writer in psychedelic 6-piece Doprah, indi has recently released her own lush and complex debut album ‘Precipice’. The LP was praised by local and international music critics alike, with Nick Bollinger of RNZ’s the Sampler calling it ‘boundary-breaking and beautiful’, and ‘stunning.. a striking step for the burgeoning enigma’ by the reputable Line of Best Fit (UK).

This is the first and last opportunity to see indi live in NZ this year, as she will be touring her latest work in Europe and Japan for the remainder of 2018.

French_concession is a solo art-pop project of Ella Chau Yin Chi started in Shanghai in 2009. Her tightly woven and dreamy music scapes reflect the influence of her widespread travels, fusing her Hong Kong & New Zealand roots. Her tracks has been featured on alternative music radio stations in Montreal, Berlin, Melbourne, Berlin, Melbourne, Austria, UK & New Zealand. In 2015, the track ‘To Be Free’ was selected to be in the 1st Female:Pressure compilation via the Berlin based Reveller Records.

This year, French_concession will be releasing her 5th EP through the Wellington based label Ball of Wax, and a single on the UK based label Chinabot. Selected from over 100 artist/bands, she is part of this year’s Ear Up Music in Hong Kong.
