SUMMARY:Playlunch Sex Ed New Zealand Tour
DESCRIPTION:Forged in the depths of lockdown in a share house home-studio somewhere in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs\, Playlunch is the chaotic\, genre-bending brainchild of producer and multi-instrumentalist Liam Bell. A wild blend of retro dance music\, late ‘90s/early 2000s Aussie nostalgia and unapologetic suburban swagger\, Playlunch aren’t just riding a wave—they’re creating their own: a loud\, proud\, and irresistibly fun genre they call Bogan Funk. \nSince bursting onto the scene in April 2022\, Playlunch have gone from a cult curiosity to one of Australia’s most exciting and talked-about new acts. Their 2023 debut album\, Who’s Ready For A Good Time\, laid the foundations with viral TikTok moments\, triple j High Rotation\, and a sold-out 500-person shows across Australia – but Playlunch aren’t just a viral moment. \nIn an industry facing tough economic headwinds\, Playlunch have defied the odds\, powered by a fiercely loyal and ever-growing fanbase. Their 2024 showcase at BIGSOUND cemented their reputation as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging acts\, with eyes now firmly set on their next era. \n2025 has seen Playlunch cement their place in the national spotlight with the release of their sophomore album Sex Ed — a bold\, cheeky\, and sonically irresistible evolution of their Bogan Funk manifesto. The standout single “Keith” became a breakout hit\, racking up over 3 million streams across DSP’s\, 10 million+ views across TikTok and Instagram Reels\, and earning triple j Feature Track alongside high rotation and community radio saturation across the country. Thanks to its hilarious yet heartfelt tribute to every middle-aged Aussie bloke you’ve ever known\, “Keith” struck a chord far beyond their core fanbase—spawning thousands of memes\, fan videos\, drag performances and even unofficial pub karaoke nights. The track reached #1 on the Spotify Viral 50 (AU) and helped propel Sex Ed into national charts and end-of-year “Best Of” lists. \nPlaylunch’s insane live show has made them a must-see act across the country. Across NYE on the Hill\, Party in the Paddock\, Hyper Festival (to name a few)\, and a headline tour of packed-out 1200 CAP venues\, they’ve built a reputation for turning any crowd into a sweaty\, laughing\, dancing mess. Wherever they go\, Playlunch take nostalgic school disco and amp it up to full-blown festival euphoria. \n

In 2023 he launched the Carrier project on the legendary Trilogy Tapes label\, distilling influences from the golden era of drum & bass\, dub techno\, and experimental electronics into a unified approach that values space\, simplicity\, and atmosphere over adherence to genre. His most recent album on Modern Love further solidifies this genre-bending approach with a result that genuinely new and progressive amongst a sea of cookie-cutting nostalgia. \nOn support we have 2 newcomers to the HAVEN booth – SHLI opens the night with his wonked bassy selections\, while Ambient Headquarters party-starter AYALUNA is closing the evening with their signature psychedelic selections drawing inspiration across bass music and outdoor psy-raves… \nHigh quality audio provided by 03 legends Subtle Sound System // Artwork by HAVEN co-founder Marie Celeste \nFREE EXPRESSION ENCOURAGED // COME AS YOU ARE\, ACCEPT AS THEY COME \nSATURDAY 30TH MAY LINE-UP (ALPHABETICAL): \nTHE RAT\nTOM PLUM\nVALERIE ACE (DE // INTREPID SKIN\, KAOS/OAKS\, HAVEN\, RAW) \nSUNDAY 31ST MAY LINE-UP (ALPHABETICAL) \nAYALUNA\nCARRIER [LIVE] (UK // MODERN LOVE\, FELT)\nSHLI \n9pm-2am // Saturday 30th May + Sunday 31st May // Galaxy Bar\, 206 Barbadoes St \nDouble passes and tickets for each individual night are available via Resident Advisor. \nRespect the venue\, respect the DJs\, and respect your fellow dancers. SUMMARY:SEREBII Album Release
DESCRIPTION:SEREBII is the project of Auckland-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Callum Mower. Working across electronic production and live instrumentation\, his music moves between alt-pop\, dance and experimental forms\, shaped by a tactile and emotionally unsettled sensibility. \nHis third album\, Nothing Grows Here\, arriving in late May\, sits in atmosphere and texture\, leaning into transition\, ambiguity and unfinished emotional states. Built from moments of movement rather than resolution\, the record drifts between clarity and collapse\, holding space for ideas still forming. \nThese Aotearoa shows mark the first opportunity to hear the album reworked for stage\, alongside earlier material\, presented in an intimate live setting. \n30 May – Double Whammy\, Auckland\n5 June – Vogelmorn Upstairs\, Wellington\n6 June – Space Academy\, Christchurch \n

SUMMARY:Clap Clap Riot - Like A Lover - Tour 2026
DESCRIPTION:Clap Clap Riot Announce First Tour in Seven Years\n*with special guests* \nThe ever-energetic indie-rock outfit Clap Clap Riot are thrilled to announce a three-date tour of Aotearoa\, marking their most substantial run of live shows in several years. The trek begins in Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara on Friday\, May 22 before taking in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau on Saturday\, May 23 and wrapping up in Christchurch/Ōtautahi on Saturday\, June 6. \nThe tour aligns with the release of the band’s latest single\, “Like a Lover”\, a raw yet catchy track that explores the emotional fallout of messed-up relationships and the powerful moment of realisation when someone sees they’ve been used. \nStephen Heard\, frontman of Clap Clap Riot\, says the band look forward to reconnecting with audiences and sharing both new songs and beloved classics from their ever-evolving catalogue. \n“Honestly\, we feel more than ready to get back out on the road. We can’t wait to finally share the material we started working on in 2019. These songs have been living in our heads for a long time and are some of the most dynamic we’ve ever produced. We’re itching to play them live and loud and reconnect with everyone face-to-face.” \nThe band’s last full-scale tour of New Zealand was their 10 Year Anniversary Tour in 2019\, which celebrated a decade of the band’s signature blend of infectious guitar hooks and witty\, sharp-edged indie rock. \nTour Dates: \nFriday\, May 22 – Meow\, Wellington*\nSaturday\, May 23 – Whammy Bar\, Auckland\nSaturday\, June 6 – The Loons\, Christchurch \nTickets for the Auckland and Christchurch performances are available via undertheradar.co.nz\, and *tickets for the Wellington show can be purchased from meow.nz. \n

SUMMARY:Spooky Eyes (Nipaluna/Hobart) and S.E.I.S.M.I.C at Darkroom
DESCRIPTION:Two psych-rock bands from Nipaluna/Hobart\, Australia and Ōtautahi/Christchurch\, New Zealand are teaming up this winter for a touring exchange! \n03 faves S.E.I.S.M.I.C will be heading over to Hobart in May to perform at Altar Bar with Tasmanian locals Spooky Eyes\, and then in July the two bands reunite in Ōtautahi/Christchurch to perform together at Darkroom. \nAcid rock trio Spooky Eyes have been making waves across the ditch\, paying shows across Tasmania and mainland Australia alongside a stacked list of emerging and big name talent\, including support slots for the likes of Jack White and Foo Fighters \nPsych rock squadron S.E.I.S.M.I.C. will be representing Ōtautahi\, with a sound that weaves together elements of psychedelia and garage with a wall of fuzz. \nCatch the two bands live on Fri July 3rd at Darkroom! \nAbout the Band Swap:\nThis project is a collaboration between members of the music communities in Nipaluna Hobart and Ōtautahi Christchurch\, New Zealand. Participating bands pick each other up from the airport\, open their homes to each other\, take each other sight seeing\, share backline\, and more importantly share all the local insider knowledge on what makes the music community in their city so damn cool! International touring is expensive and a lot of administrative and logistical work goes into making it happen! By linking up with locals on the ground at each end\, the project helps to share the load and puts international touring in reach for emerging\, DIY bands. \nThis winter’s tour is the pilot of what could hopefully become an ongoing\, annual reciprocal touring exchange between the two cities. The pilot received a small funding contribution towards the costs associated with these shows\, but with flights and\, well\, everything else being so expensive these days the bands would love your support by buying a ticket and showing some love for this idea. If this show goes well then hopefully the touring exchange can become an ongoing\, annual project\, taking more bands between the two cities. This year’s Band Swap is all about Psych Rock\, but if the programme gets off the ground and becomes an ongoing thing\, bands of any genre are welcome to express interest and apply for the trip in future! \n
