SUMMARY:Sunshine - Spirit Boy Single Release Feat. Sam Burt
DESCRIPTION:Hailing from Ōtautahi Christchurch\, Spirit Boy make music they love to listen to. \nWith a new three-track EP on the way\, Spirit Boy are gearing up for a busy year ahead. The next gig celebrates the release of the first single\, Sunshine\, a hot new addition to the fan favourites. \nLed by Ethan Mead’s commanding voice and heartfelt songwriting\, the band draw inspiration from Americana and folk artists of the 60s and 70s\, the earnestness of 80s new romanticism\, and the anthemic storytelling of modern artists like Sam Fender. The result is a sound that balances soaring indie-rock energy with deeply personal songwriting. \nFollowing the release of their debut album\, The Existential Hours\, last year\, Spirit Boy return with renewed purpose\, a refreshed lineup\, and a new collection of songs that signal the band’s next evolution: bigger melodies\, sharper songwriting\, and a renewed sense of identity. \nAt the heart of it all remains Mead’s knack for finding joy\, hope\, and connection in life’s complexities. The new lineup consists of Ethan Mead (vocals and guitar)\, Frankie Daly (keys)\, Shaun Burke (bass)\, Ben MacDonald (guitar)\, and Mason Head (drums). \nWith support from Spirit Boy alumnus Sam Burt. \n

SUMMARY:Horsehands And Minerva (concept=album?)
DESCRIPTION:Join horsehands and Minerva at Darkroom for an evening of musical performance and wonder. \nBoth groups have plans to record/release an album in the not too distant future. Ponder with them\, as they take on the challenge of conceptualising these albums. \nconcept=album? \nMinerva will treat you to their alt-rock\, shoegaze-y sounds. Their recent EP Juno’s Crush should give you an idea\, so maybe go give that a listen and report back. \nThe band horsehands will perform a set of songs\, of a post-rock and indie-rock nature. One of the new ones might be kind of slow-core but also not really sure what that is so you will have to let us know. \ndoors 730pm\nMinerva 8pm\nhorsehands 845pm \n
