DESCRIPTION:Simurgh is a Christchurch-based fusion ensemble of traditional instruments from Iran\, Afghanistan\, Turkey\, India\, and the Arabic world.\nThe group was born out of the collaboration between multi-instrumentalists Esmail Fathi\, Liam Oliver\, Nelson & Pragunya Myers-Daly\, as well as other local musicians and singers experienced in these rich music traditions.\nEsmail and Liam are known for co-founding the eponymous Simurgh Music School\, Aotearoa’s first organization aimed to teach the performing arts from Persia and surrounding regions.
