Daniel Madill & Tacoma Mould

March 9, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm NZDT

$5.00

NZ Musician described his sound as ‘a modern lo-fi retake on folk- and blues-based music.’ Daniel Madill creates catchy no-frills folk songs with a ‘driven-ness that energizes you when you hear them, whether it’s been for the first or fiftieth time’. Think Howlin’ Wolf, Arthur Lee and Gene Clarke with a nod to antifolk.
Having cut his musical teeth on the Dunedin indie circuit for several years, the now Christchurch based singer/songwriter is a tireless performer. He has played shows from one end of the long white cloud to the other, sharing the stage with the likes of The Eastern, Bill Morris, The Tattle Tale Saints, Luckless and Violet French. Come on down for a big sounding psych-folk, blues mash as Madill mines his back catalogue and performs tracks from his most recent EP, Bake a Snake.

You will also be treated to a set by subversive folksters, Tacoma Mould. Tacoma Mould encompass the human experience, through beauty and love into darkness and depravity. The ride is so fun; however, you won’t know how far down the rabbit hole you’ve gone. They sing tunes old and new. Folk, pop, rock ‘n’ roll. Tacoma Mould are namely Michael Summerfield and Violet French, with a ridiculously chequered musical past between them, not to mention bucket loads of talent, and impeccable taste. Did anybody mention they have the voices of angels? No? Well, they have the voices of angels, and work best on tequila… That’s where the fire comes from.
