QZB Bio:
Anyone thirsting for conventional sounds is at the wrong address. QZB roll up Drum’n’Bass anew—precise, focused, and with a dynamic that is infectious.
Since 2012, they have been putting their heads together and constantly working on the perfection of their recipes. The impressive interim result: sold-out club nights, festival appearances all over Europe, and releases on the hottest label for visions of the future, Critical Music.
This success is no accident. From the very beginning, razor-sharp percussion and an unmistakably forward-looking overall aesthetic provided enthusiasm on the dance floors. Hip hop and breaks are just as much a source of inspiration as Italo disco or jazz—knowing that reaching new worlds also means breaking with the past. Borders are not yet in sight.
Future Forever / Debut Album
‘Future Forever’ sees QZB come full circle. The duo’s debut album lands after a three-year span of radical re-examination. During this extended writing time, they have delved head-first into their practice, questioning every step of the process. Drafting, testing, reimagining its components. Fine-tuning its minute details. Until the machine was built to fit the spec.
Both artists draw on their shared passion for cinematography and design to translate this experience, incorporating new modes of production throughout. With sonic fragments arranged in wide shot compositions, the QZB signature sound delivers.
Within 36 months of recording, patching, scratching, bouncing, and re-bouncing, QZB have distilled their vision down to 44 minutes of focused intent. This album is high-tech funk recounting the past, understanding the present, hallucinating the coming. Featuring contributions by Charli Brix, T-Man, Marea, and MCXL.
