Lucy McLauchlan, There are Voices to be Heard

July 5, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm NZST

Fiksate is excited to showcase works from UK street artist Lucy McLauchlan, in a solo show titled, THERE ARE VOICES TO BE HEARD.

This body of work was originally produced for PARADOX, (Tauranga street art Festival, 2017), in collaboration with OI YOU, the producers behind the Rise and Spectrum street art festivals, and the Tauranga Art Gallery.

British born Lucy McLauchlan’s large-scale monochromatic paintings have covered multi-story buildings across Europe, gigantic billboards in China, windows in Japan, huts in The Gambia, Italian water towers, Norwegian lighthouse, Detroit car parks and abandoned NYC subway tunnels. McLauchlan’s work also adorns the walls of galleries and museums including the V & A collection in London.

Implicit within her work is a deep respect for nature as she draws inspiration from her immediate environment; allowing it to inform and direct what is an intuitive and exploratory process.
