SUMMARY:Marmalade | Amber Carly Williams | Leah Kelsey
DESCRIPTION:Whether you’re freshly dusty off the back of Electric Avenue or simply searching for something sweet to do on a Sunday evening\, join us for a Sunday session at the Space Academy. We’ve gathered all our tastiest tunes and stripped them back to solo/duo formations to plate an entirely delectable and wholesome gig for your pleasure! \nMarmalade\nSwinging somewhere between folk-pop and indie-rock\, Tāmaki Makaurau based Jemilah & Koen bring you a stripped-back version of their usual full-band sound. Their honest lyricism floats above laid-back acoustic guitars and delicious harmonies to create a juicy jar full of sounds. \nMarmalade’s debut single ‘Bright’ gained traction fast after its release in June and charted at #2 on the NZ singles charts. Their debut EP ‘Sober’\, released in 2024\, was extremely well-received around Aotearoa\, hauling in positive reviews from Rolling Stone Magazine\, Rat World Magazine\, and more. \nMarmalade have supported several notable acts live including Hot Potato Band (AUS)\, 10:32 (UK)\, Beach Bunny (US)\, French for Rabbits (NZ) and Ha The Unclear (NZ). \nThis is Marmalade’s first gig in Ōtautahi! \nAmber Carly Williams\nŌtautahi-based artist Amber Carly Williams has slotted into Aotearoa’s indie-pop scene\, with a vulnerability in her songwriting that entices listeners. Amber has worked with various artists including Kimbra\, Jeremy Redmore (Midnight Youth) and Keenan Te to name a few. In support of releasing her debut EP ‘21 Roses’ at the end of 2023\, Amber did a mini tour across NZ as well as having performed at Rolling Meadows\, Bay Dreams\, Single Fin Mingle\, South Island Wine & Food Fest and is on the lineup for this year’s Nostalgia fest. \nLeah Kelsey\nŌtautahi based singer-songwriter Leah Kelsey will provoke you to feel emotions you forgot you could feel. Her vulnerable & endearing lyrics tell stories of love\, loss & everything in between. With just her ethereal voice & guitar\, it will be like a gentle indie pop dream come true. \n
