Michael Gordon Orchestra

Michael Gordon Orchestra presents “Alpine Stream”, a new 40 minute suite of jazz nonet compositions. The performance will also include music from the recent albums “Live By The Sword” and “Dreams of New York”. The Orchestra features some of Christchurch’s finest jazz musicians including ARA Music arts tutors.

Bio: Michael Gordon attended Sydney Conservatorium and has spent the last 10 years living in Sydney. He has performed with many of Australia’s finest jazz musicians such as John Harkins, Andrew Dickeson, Michael Griffin, Dave Panichi, Arthur Washington and Geoff Bull. He has also played many festivals with renowned Ethiopian singer Dereb Zenebe including the 2013 Tokyo and Iwate Jazz Festivals. Michael’s music has been featured on ABC radio shows Daily Planet and Jazztrack and received multiple reviews in The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian newspapers.
