SUMMARY:The Deluxe Pxssy Meal
DESCRIPTION:Food Court x Queer Horizons \nserve you… \nTHE DELUXE PXSSY MEAL \nFrom the collaborative kitchen of Food Court and Queer Horizons\, comes the most delectable dish this city has ever seen…The Deluxe PXSSY Meal! 👀🌶️ 🍔 🥵 \nOn February 17th\, the legendary London collective PXSSY PALACE will grace the Flux courtyard\, joining forces with some of Aotearoa’s sauciest selectors to bring you a five hour feast of queer ecstasy 💅🌃 🪩 This decadent night will be served across TWO STAGES\, with nine DJs bringing their signature styles to the table\, ready for you to devour. Our skilled chefs will take you on a genre-melding journey through forgotten flavours and secret spices\, in a space that centres the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities that make our favourite meals so darn tasty in the first place. \nFilled with international cuisine\, fresh local produce\, and a hot n’ spicy kick in every bite\, this is a dinner party you don’t want to miss 🍽️ 🎟️🎂 \nDessert will be served all night long. \nCome feast x \nPXSSY PALACE (London) \nVercetti (Tāmaki Makaurau) \nSamara Alofa (Tāmaki Makaurau) \nMapmaker \nSarahsavage \nTikka \nInfordin \nThis night was created to uplift our BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities\, especially our QTBIPOC whānau\, as a space of celebration and empowerment. Allies are warmly welcomed\, but asked to please be mindful of the space they take up. This party is a place for everyone\, but BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ are front and centre\, always. \n~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ \nPXSSY PALACE \nLondon’s iconic PXSSY PALACE is an arts platform rooted in intentional nightlife\, celebrating Black\, Indigenous and People of Colour who are Queer\, Intersex\, Trans or Non-binary. Named one of Dazed100’s Cultural Influences\, the collective is renowned for their empowering club nights which champion the sounds of the global majority\, from RnB and hiphop to dancehall\, dembow\, and jersey club bangers. With an emphasis on inclusivity\, PXSSY PALACE has firmly carved a space for people to dance freely and connect meaningfully\, whilst encouraging consent\, sexual freedom\, pleasure\, expression and the exploration of our authentic selves. \nFOOD COURT \nHot off the heels of their legendary stage takeover at Twisted Frequency\, Food Court is cranking up the heat for 2024. Born from a sense of dissatisfaction with Ōtautahi’s bland weekend rotation and the craving to see more diverse flavors on the menu\, Food Court was created by BIPOC for BIPOC\, to highlight the communities that make our favourite meals so darn tasty in the first place. Here to spice up the scene\, Food Court is guaranteed to bring you curated club nights full of diverse cuisine and fresh local produce – filled to the brim with a whole lot of zest\, punch and bite xo \nQUEER HORIZONS \nQueer Horizons began as a one-off gig\, with a group of friends throwing a closing party for the art exhibition Backdirt\, featuring queer artists Priscilla Rose Howe and Daniel John Corbett Sanders. The event quickly sold out\, expressing the shared desire from Ōtautahi’s LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities for a space that celebrates and centers their joy. Now with three legendary gigs under their wig\, Queer Horizons has established itself as a euphoric haven for the city’s queer and BIPOC whānau\, and as a high-energy and restorative space for us all. The purpose of the collective is to provide a platform for QTBIPOC creatives to express themselves freely–through music\, art and dance–and a desire to elevate the runway for our Te Waipounamu ballroom girls. Queer Horizons is collectively organised by Honey Brown\, Georgia Nicholls\, Maddi White\, Mieke Montagne\, Abby Cunnane and Carmel Rowden\, with special credit given to QH alumni and club kid creative\, Devyn Moar. \n
