The Nineteen Nineties Front Man Face Off

May 23, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm NZST

$25

Doors Open: 7:00pm – Show Time: 8:00pm

As part of ‘Blue smokes’ series of fundraising shows under the ‘How Can I Keep From Singing?’ banner the venue is proud to announce a special one off performance this May.

The return and reunion of three of the mid 90’s Christchurch music scene’s most familiar faces.

From CINEMATIC, Jeremy Taylor, from THE PUFFINS Lindon Puffin, and from THE HOLY TOLEDOS Brendan Gregg.

Frontmen from three of the well known and cherished bands of the time, the boys remember fondly long nights at the Dux De Lux and other iconic local venues.

Cinematic were the loved face of the thinking person’s indie, The Puffins became an art pop riot of glam and hooks and The Holy Toledos were one of Christchurch’s most celebrated and popular bands, signed to Sony, touring with Crowded House and a huge video hit with the song ‘Loves Not Fair’.

The three will alternate sets and then join each other in an 90’s indie pop masterclass of melody and rickenbacker influenced indie pop.

This will be a night to commune with the selves you thought had been lost to time and the music that soundtracked the city over those years, way back when, all for a good strong cause.
