Wednesday Night Action proudly presents “Who Killed Captain Alex?” – the first in a monthly series of face-melting bootleg movie screenings.

Cobbled together in a Kampala slum for less than $200, Isaac Nabwana’s 2010 cult classic follows a tracksuited Ugandan Shaolin monk as he takes on the evil Tiger Mafia to avenge the death of his brother, the legendary super-commando Captain Alex.

Starring Isaac’s friends and neighbours, and “dubbed” into broken English by the inimitable VJ Emmie, this chaotic micro-budget oddity will be projected on a curtain in a dimly-lit room for an audience of drunks, as nature intended.

Entry is free, but we’ll be collecting donations for the filmmakers. They deserve it. You’ll see.

Join us at darkroom on Wednesday the 17th for 74 minutes of cow blood, wooden machine guns, pixelated explosions and African kung-fu mayhem. Bar opens at 7pm – film commences 8.30pm.
