SUMMARY:Poets And Prophets: Volume I - Sam Bambery\, Reuben Ishrahm and Just Janie
DESCRIPTION:Poets & Prophets: Volume I\nFeaturing: Sam Bambery\, Reuben Ishrahm\, & Just Janie \nPoets & Prophets is an evening of song and story\, set in a writers round. An evening of deep cuts\, and personal favourites\, where listeners are able to hear some of the more intimate and lesser heard pieces by local artists – and a chance for artists to bare their hearts on their sleeves and share some of their art at it’s most vulnerable. \nSam Bambery: \nSam Bambery is an Ōtautahi/Christchurch based artist and musician exploring his love of semi-psychedelia through a twisted folk lens. His sophomore album effort Rubricator (releasing May 17th via Under Underground Records) wraps indie pop experimentation around subversive lyricism and stands as a direct engagement with Bambery’s referential approaches live and in the studio. \nReuben Ishrahm: \nReuben Ishrahm is in no way a stranger to the Christchurch creative scene\, but it has been some time since he has taken to the stage under the mantle of his own name. Baring his teeth with his heart on his sleeve\, Ishrahm’s music is raw\, real and honest. Forged in the fires of feeling\, his music bares true to the values he writes from: “I just want to write music that makes people feel.” \nJust Janie: \nJust Janie is a folk musician born and raised in Central Otago. Recently she relocated to Ōtautahi to pursue music full-time. Janie’s lyrical landscapes offer an intimately raw window into her experiences of love and loss\, the disillusion of rose-tinted memories\, and what it means to write and perform her music. Drawing inspiration from the folk scene of the late sixties and early seventies\, Janie’s music can be described as captivating and tender.\n‘I laughed\, cried and fell in love on the first song.’ – David Milligan \n
