SUMMARY:Voom\, Reb Fountain\, Vera Ellen
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Eccles Entertainment and RDU \n\n\nThis winter\, indie pop perennials Voom\, collide with the spellbinding magnetic folk rock prowess of Reb Fountain and join forces with beguiling indie rocker Vera Ellen; hitting the road throughout New Zealand. \nPresented by Eccles Entertainment and the Student Radio Network\, don’t miss thier show Christchurch at James Hay Theatre on Thursday 30 May. \nVoom don’t play often\, but when they do it is an occasion. Their most recent show at a packed Auckland Town Hall for ‘Save the b’ is a testament to their cult-like following. Their raft of classic songs\, including Be Your Boy\, King Kong\, We’re So Lost\, Relax and Beth are testament to their legendary status. The chaotic genius of founding member Buzz Moller has for the last 20 years been accompanied by Nick Buckton (sidekicknick)\, as well as Murray Fisher (Goodshirt)\, with Josh Sorenson on drums. After several years away from the limelight\, the band have recently reissued their album Hello\, Are You There? vinyl LP which is out now via Flying Nun Records\, a new record due for release later in 2024. \nAnybody who has seen Reb Fountain and band full flight knows the power of their live show. \n“I watched Reb Fountain last Saturday\, prowling across the stage like Patti Smith and Cat Power one- minute\, Nick Cave living his best life the next. Reb was a revelation. I could have watched that show on any stage in the world – and Reb would have deserved to be there.” — Stuff\, 2022. \n\n\n

SUMMARY:notv\, Holy Humm\, Red Shroud
DESCRIPTION:Join us from 8pm\, 30 May\, at a Thursday Noise Situation for notv\, the return of Holy Humm and the debut of Red Shroud.\nnotv – in their 30 years of existence; notv has mucked about with\, and tried to make music from\, all sorts of electronics and stuff. They are still trying.\nHoly Humm is a chrome coated world of disfigured freqs and electrifying rhythms. A cacophony of love and chaos.\nInspired by brutalist architecture\, Red Shroud replace the exposed concrete and angular geometries with monolithic slabs of ragged frequencies. Sitting uncomfortably across the genres of dark ambient and death industrial\, Red Shroud create a soundtrack for dark and decaying urban environments.\n8:30-9:00 Red Shroud9:15-9:45 Holy humm10:00-10:30 notv\n30 Maydarkroom\n
