SUMMARY:Hide Presents: Frank Booker & Nathan Haines
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHide is are excited to present Frank Booker & Nathan Haines. \n  \nHide Club | 172 St Asaph Street \nSunday 2nd June | 10:00pm – 3:00am \nTickets are now on sale\, scoop up and early bird before you miss out! \nFrank Booker: \nBased in Tāmaki Makaurau\, Aotearoa\, Frank Booker has built a worldwide reputation for incredible edits and amazing DJ sets. His highly acclaimed production output has been released on vinyl via the likes of Razor-N-Tape (USA)\, Wonderful Noise (Japan)\, and Disco Deviance (UK) and more. His music has been supported by the likes of Natasha Diggs\, The Black Madonna\, Dam Swindle\, Optimo\, Mr Scruff\, Jimpster\, Session Victim\, amongst many others. \nTouring extensively since 2012\, Booker has made his way through Australia\, Japan\, Great Britain\, Ireland\, France\, Holland\, Switzerland\, USA\, and Brazil playing alongside the likes of Moodymann\, DJ Harvey\, Gilles Peterson\, Folamour\, and Dam Funk amongst others. Highly in demand in his native Aotearoa\, Booker was the DJ of choice for a private party for Prince when he visited the country in 2016. He is a regular at festivals and events around Aotearoa\, performing the closing set at the main stage of Splore in 2021 alongside long-time collaborator Nathan Haines. \nBooker is collaborating alongside the acclaimed soul sensation Mara TK (Lord Echo/Electric Wire Hustle) in the role of executive producer of Mara’s forthcoming sophomore album due out in early 2022\, featuring a host of contributors including Borrowed CS\, Julien Dyne\, and Nathan Haines. \nNathan Haines: \nNathan started DJ’ing in the late 90’s in the UK\, and his DJ sets bring his wealth of passion and knowledge of dance music\, jazz\, disco\, and house into one high-energy set. As Nathan is known worldwide as one of the most distinctive and recognizable saxophonists of his generation\, his DJ sets feature him playing live over his own productions and more. Recent collaborations include the massive Emotional Intelligence and the recent Sirena Deep with Chaos in the CBD\, and with UK based DJ/producer Ray Mang. He’s also guested on the latest Atjazz album due for release later in 2023\, to the Atjazz remix of Nathan’s classic “Earth is the Place” with Nathan on saxophone. Meanwhile\, back in NZ\, he flexed his production and saxophone skills on this Flamingo Pier track from their last album and also on this Frank Booker track. Nathan’s musical DNA goes from Jazz to House and even to Drum and Bass – to his latest release under his Sci-Clone moniker on UK label Metalheadz. But it’s Disco and House music where Nathan’s sets are firmly placed\, and with the inclusion of his live saxophone and the option of guest percussionist Richard Cesan\, this duo DJ/live lineup takes center stage this summer delivering an unforgettable set of music fusing all of Nathan’s musical influences into one high-energy set. His 11th solo album due for release on Loop Records in late 2023 was initially started with the late UK based producer Phil Asher who produced Nathan’s groundbreaking Sound Travels and Squire For Hire albums\, which saw Nathan’s music go global on a massive scale – and earned him a certified Gold album back home in Aotearoa. With Phil’s untimely passing two years ago\, Nathan has collaborated with close friend Frank Booker to help finish the project\, as well as teaming up with some very fine local and international musicians. Nathan’s latest vinyl release Journey to the Peak with Phil was on the highly respected Italian label Neroli\, with his full album being released on Loop later in 2023. You can watch a snippet of a recent sold-out gig at the Piha Bowling Club. \n\n\n\nTerms & Conditions\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSecure your tickets today!\nBuy tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
