SUMMARY:Dillastrate x Harmony & Rhythm
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of Matariki 2024\, Dillastrate are bringing a new live experience to the Great Hall. \nDillastrate have teamed up with Harmony & Rhythm (including a 7-piece horn section led by the amazing Jimmy Rainey) to perform a special selection of Dillastrate’s waiata reo Māori. These waiata have been making big waves in the music industry\, frequently charting in the Official New Zealand Top 10 Music Charts\, and exported globally as the theme song for New Zealand Cricket broadcasts worldwide. \nThis stellar line-up of Ōtautahi musicians will be performing new songs and old favourites alike\, including a sneak preview of unreleased Dillastrate material earmarked for Waiata Anthems 2024. You can also expect special guest singers to be announced closer to the event\, as well as a very special opening act. \nThis is a show not to be missed\, and the best way to celebrate the Māori new year\, right here in beautiful Ōtautahi. \nThis event is part of Matariki 2024\, where we’re celebrating Matariki with talented artists from Ōtautahi and beyond. Bring your friends and whānau to Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre (17 – 30 Pipiri June) for music\, exhibitions\, kapa haka\, wānanga (workshops)\, kai\, light installations\, special mākete and much more. \n
