DESCRIPTION:DIG THE GIG 2024 was off the friggin hook! \nFrom May through to September over eighty kick ass DTG University Bands played their hearts out across four of our best University’s here in Aotearoa. \nFor the first time in ‘NZ University Folklore History’ we are about to witness the best four DTG NZ University Bands (chosen by the FANS) that will fight it out in the DTG Ring of Rock N’ Roll to claim the prestigious Californian-Kiwi Connection Music Award and be crowned best DIG THE GIG University Band in Aotearoa 2024! \nThe winning band will be flown to L.A to play a one off show on the Sunset Strip at the Whisky A Go Go in June 2025. \nIf you’ve been a FAN of DTG you will know that we don’t have judges – our bands are judged by the Decibel Meter – that’s right the roar of the crowd gets the bands through their heats\, into the semi’s and onto the finals. \nOn the night of the DTG Nationwide Grand Final the Decibel Meter will be present – but we have also created a special link for you as a dedicated FAN to cast your vote for your favourite band. Your vote will be added to your bands Decibel Meter score at the conclusion of the event – ticket sales are limited\, so if you cant come to the show jump online and vote for your favourite band!
