SUMMARY:Khaki Department + Pining Radiata Tour w/ Model Home + Carb On Carb
DESCRIPTION:Leaders of the Manawatū Renaissance Khaki Department have been steadily instilling their searing shoegaze anthems across Te Ika-a-Maui throughout 2024\, crafting a widely regarded and memorable live performance. With a signature sound defined by waterlogged pedal boards\, ripping guitar melodies and cavernous synthscapes all tightly bound together by sludgey basslines and playfully heavy drumming\, the band are excited to play tracks off their forthcoming full length album set for release in October. \nDynamic alt-rock quartet Pining Radiata are making themselves known for their brooding sound\, evocative lyrics and poignant hooks.Their debut EP ‘Skin’ was recorded shortly after their formation and packages together the band’s polarity between moments of fragility and blistering distortion. Intense guitar freak-outs\, fuzz laden Rhodes\, swirling delay loops and yearnful vocal harmonies are all on the menu for the Pining Radiata live set. \nQuake-city stalwarts Model Home are bringing their resilient emo rock anthems and bright yellow Mitsubishi L300 to Space Academy. Not even a broken arm could stop them from delivering a stunning lagoon-side set at Camp A Low Hum earlier this year. They swept us off our feet during the 2023 “.. And Nobody Made A Sound” album tour\, which still rings loud in the ears of the Palmerston North Music scene. \nCarb on Carb are playing in Christchurch one final time\, giving you a heavy dose of their palm-mutes and pull-offs that have firmly rooted them as champions of emo in Aotearoa. Serving up cuts from their energetic-come-cathartic 2024 album ‘Take Time’ as well as old favourites from their 10 year history\, you’re not going to want to miss this milestone moment. \nIn conjunction with the tour\, the band’s have selected a handful of tracks for a 10 inch split lathe which will be available at the shows. Cut on transparent blue vinyl\, the lathes are available now for pre-order via the Pining Radiata or Khaki Department instagram. \n
