SUMMARY:Sonik Tonik
DESCRIPTION:The summer season is well and truly upon us\, and Flux is continuing the tradition of showcasing rock-solid sound with a night of stonking party beats courtesy of 3 cutting edge acts rom across Aotearoa; COMMUNICATE\, Rare Specimens and Ōtautahi’s own Patella. \n  \nWhether you’re heading along to Electric Avenue or not\, Flux will be set up and ready to go so you can continue the party in style in the courtyard when the main event wraps up\, or you can make it your sole destination for the night. With a special late licence taking us through till 2am and all these musical talents on board\, it’s going to be one hell of a party. Definitely one you shouldn’t miss. \n  \nCOMMUNICATE is the brain child of Tāmaki Makaurau based DJs Cyril Orson and Heylady. Since banding together in 2022 they have played across Aotearoa at some of NZ’s biggest festivals and club nights. These two stalwarts of the New Zealand scene have been ferreting away rhythm for well over 50 years between them\, they have a stacked summer season and collaborations with some fairly hefty names in NZ’s underground scene. going on With the launch of their label\, XCOMMUNICATE on the very near horizon and multiple releases incoming\, the pair are firmly stamping their mark on NZ’s underground scene. They have quickly garnered a reputation as one of the acts to follow\, with their combined passion and experience they bring an energy to the floor that is hypnotising\, all-encompassing and unmistakable. \n  \nRare Specimens burst onto the national scene with a cracking \nperformance at Rhythm & Alps in 2023. A project from the shores of Lake Wanaka\, the DJ quartet includes DJ’s Everybody\, Nick Munday\, OCDJ and Pete Green\, all core members of party collective Tempo Schmempo\, and firm fixtures in New Zealand‘s festival\, club party scene. With a series of genre-melding E.Ps and remixes set for imminent release\, a tight-lipped radio project in development and major support slots and festival appearances lined up for the summer\, Rare Specimens are introducing themselves in extraordinary fashion. \n  \nPatella is a queer electronic music producer and DJ hailing from Ōtautahi. Specialising in house music\, they craft a diverse range of electronic styles that captivate and inspire. With a unique production style rooted in percussive grooves and a passion for pushing musical boundaries\, Patella continues to shape and redefine the electronic music landscape in Aotearoa with their signature sounds. \n  \nJoin us for a night of epic music\, good times\, diversity and ridiculous behaviour. We are so excited to dance with you all. Preesales are available now from Flicket\, so get in and grab yours because it’ll be more on the door. \n  \nIMPORTANT INFO: \n  \nOur dance floor is a safe space for all. If you or someone you know is feeling unsafe or harassed\, please approach one of the DJs\, bar staff or security. If you are behaving badly and impacting others ability to have a good time safely\, you will be removed. Please act with respect and care for your fellow dancers at all times\, no means no and this goes for conversations as well as more intimate requests. \n
