SUMMARY:Cream Presents: Skream
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to bring back the legendary Skream \n  \nHide Club | 172 St Asaph Street \nThursday 27th February | 8:00pm – 1:00am \nSupport from: CHOLE \n  \n🎟 Tickets go live Thursday\, 30th Jan at 5:00 PM sharp – don’t miss out. \n  \nAbout Skream: \nAs one of the UK’s best-loved selectors\, Skream has enjoyed the kind of consistency most DJs and producers can only dream of. His passion for collecting and playing music is unrelenting—disco\, house\, techno\, and everything in between. It runs deep into his core\, and he lives it every single day. Still only in his early thirties\, Skream has achieved more in the last 16 years than most people do in a lifetime\, yet his hunger and enthusiasm remain akin to someone who is only just getting started. \n  \nSkream’s history is well documented: a love affair with music triggered by his older brother\, Hijak. He began DJing at 11\, making music at 15\, and became one of the key innovators at the birth of dubstep—all before leaving his teens. With his place in UK music history already assured\, he could have easily kicked back and enjoyed his legendary status. Instead\, he made a bold transition to disco\, house\, and techno\, leaving the dubstep world to forge his own path in true Skream style. \n  \nTracks like ‘Rollercoaster’ (featuring Sam Frank) and his remixes of Duke Dumont’s ‘Need You’ and Infinity Ink’s ‘Infinity’ introduced the world to Skream’s shift in style. His 2013 mix output further cemented this change\, seamlessly blending a variety of 4×4 styles across his tracks. Alongside these pivotal releases\, he showcased his eclectic tastes at his Skreamizm parties\, which toured the UK and the world\, marking the start of a new chapter. \n  \nIn November 2013\, he closed his infamous label Disfigured Dubz and unveiled a brand-new platform\, Of Unsound Mind\, six months later in May 2014. The label’s ethos was simple: to offer an outlet for Skream’s friends and support the underdogs. Since its launch\, Of Unsound Mind has clocked over 50 releases\, introducing artists like Motions\, Billy Turner\, Melody’s Enemy\, and Osolot to the world. Skream’s philanthropy highlights his no-nonsense\, unfiltered attitude and his commitment to staying true to himself. \n  \nOn the production side\, Skream has continued to push boundaries\, using his platform to release a slew of techno cuts encompassing a range of textures—from rugged to emotive. Highlights include ‘Face Down In The Water\,’ ‘Settled\,’ and the mighty ‘Chronicles’ EP with Billy Turner. Beyond his label\, he has released tracks on labels like Crosstown Rebels\, Dennis Ferrer’s Objectivity\, and We Are The Brave\, which unleashed his killer track ‘Poison’ in 2018. He has also delivered a constant flow of remixes for major labels such as Warner\, FFRR\, and Sony\, as well as influential underground outlets like Hot Creations\, Watergate\, VIVa\, and Snatch!. \n  \nThe dancefloor remains his muse\, the place where Skream feels most at home. In 2019\, his creative output continued with the release of ‘Song For Olivia’\, dedicated to his newborn daughter. This single masterfully combined carefree disco and emotive trance with a retro 80s synth feel\, showcasing yet another reinvention in Skream’s sound. Following this came ‘Ectogazm\,’ an infectious piano-driven track reminiscent of the golden era of rave while offering something fresh and innovative. With over 2.2 million combined streams\, ‘Ectogazm’ gained support from underground A-listers like Krystal Klear and The Black Madonna\, alongside radio play from Danny Howard\, Pete Tong\, and Mistajam\, and was crowned ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Annie Mac. \n  \nIn addition\, Skream released on labels such as RUKUS with his hard-hitting techno EP ‘DUNNN\,’ Solid Grooves with ‘Otto’s Chant’ and ‘Pussy Pop\,’ and found time to produce remixes for DJ Fresh\, CamelPhat\, and Declan McKenna. \n  \nFor the past few years\, Skream has showcased his deep musical knowledge through his ‘Open To Close’ parties\, playing all night long at sold-out venues worldwide. Fans trust in his ability to entertain them for eight hours or more\, making these events a dream come true for Skream and the epitome of his success. \n  \nTo achieve this level of trust from the dancefloor is rare\, and maintaining it is even more extraordinary. Skream is no ordinary artist\, and his commitment to music and his fans is unparalleled. “There was never any other option\,” he says\, and that’s why he remains one of the UK’s most treasured electronic music artists\, keeping the legacy of UK rave culture alive. \n  \nIn 2021\, Skream launched his record label I Feel\, focusing 100% on his own recordings across any genre he chooses. The global pandemic in 2020 gave him time to focus on production\, refining techniques for different soundscapes and genres. As a result\, he now has about 200 tracks ready for release. I Feel serves as the outlet for these productions\, which span house\, techno\, UK garage\, grime\, dubstep\, disco\, breakbeat\, indie\, pop\, and drum and bass. \n  \nAs we move into the second half of 2021\, Skream is in the midst of a massive release schedule\, including EPs\, remixes\, and singles. Collaborations with artists like Rudimental\, MUST DIE\, and See Thru Hands complement remixes for Octave One\, Lauren Flax\, Trance Wax\, and many more. This relentless output is quintessential Skream\, an artist who continues to innovate and inspire. \n

SUMMARY:Night Before – Week Of Port Noise
DESCRIPTION:The night before the main event. We bring you an evening of soft and sharp sonic curiosities at Lyttelton Coffee Company. Sounds provided by Peter Wright and Bruce Russell’s tone-wrangling duo – The Escalation\, sound artist and head of Melbourne/Naarm’s Nice Music Label – Simon J Karis\, and Tāmaki based audio-visual artist Ducklingmonster. \nBiographies: \nTHE ESCALATION\nThe Escalation is a guitar duo consisting of Peter Wright and Bruce Russell. Bruce can’t play guitar properly and Peter doesn’t try very hard. Peter Wright has had a long career – emerging from the post-punk Industrial miasma of early ’90s Christchurch into an open landscape of drone-based guitar improvisation. Bruce Russell’s career is even longer\, hobbled to the looming shadow of the Dead C. His solo guitar playing is really the relevant touchstone here\, pointing the duo towards the open fields of improvised sonic mischief. Together they explore the outer reaches of audible space\, boldly going where only even bolder tone-wranglers have gone before. Together they gleefully take an axe to any preconceived notions of what guitar music is\, or even what a guitar is. Purists beware! \nSIMON J KARIS\nSimon J Karis is the Melbourne-based electronic composer\, sound artist and head of Naarm/Melbourne’s Nice Music Label\, presenting the best marginal electronic and experimental music Australia’s underground has to offer. \nKaris’ own musical output across labels such as Altered States Tapes\, Vienna Press and Nice Music is a varied\, visceral and romantic meshing of smashed synthesis\, concrète sounds\, techno/dance-oriented forms and wrenching melodic patterns. In 2024 he collaborated with inimitable UK producer Actress on their 3 track release ‘THRASH’ and released his latest full length\, the thunderous epic ‘So Little Sorrow’\, paired with a stunning book of watercolour paintings by legendary ambient musician Andrew Chalk. \nDUCKLINGMONSTER\nDucklingmonster is an audio-visual artist from Tāmaki. She builds combinations of broken beats\, scratched 45 records\, and field recordings of crashing oceans and Karangahape footpaths\, with electronic and vocal textures to invite you into her sonic possible worlds. \n

SUMMARY:Crown Ruler Pres. Habibi Funk
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWith a knack for unearthing hidden gems released in the 1960’s-80’s across the Middle East and North Africa and spanning a plethora of genres from funk\, soul and jazz to punk and hip-hop; Jannis Stürtz’s Habibi Funk has been a musical staple for every environment\, from the record player at the bar to the one in your living room. \n  \nReissuing the records in eclectic compilations for the modern listener\, as well as more recently releasing music from musicians in the current day\, Stürtz’s project celebrates it’s decade anniversary in 2025. A project originally conceived while record digging in Casablanca\, Morocco; his dedication to immortalising works that might have otherwise gone forgotten has fostered new connections and modalities of working in the music industry with efforts to not reproduce historic economic patterns of exploitation and colonisation. \n  \nSince the labels success\, Stürtz’s mastery as a vinyl only DJ has taken off in equal measure over recent years with major residencies at institutions such as the legendary Jazz Cafe\, Colour Factory\, KOKO and many more. \n\n\n\n\nTerms & Conditions\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSecure your tickets today!\n\nBuy tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Cream Presents: 20 Years Of Shogun Audio
DESCRIPTION:Cream is excited to bring you – 20 Years Of Shogun Audio ft. Monrroe\, Duskee & GLXY \n  \nHide Club | 172 St Asaph Street \nFriday 28th February | 10:00pm – 3:00am \nSupport from: Singr & Bad Birds \nTickets are on sale now! Scoop up an early bird before they’re gone! \n  \nMONRROE \nMonrroe’s deeply-rooted appreciation and respect for music is at the core of everything he does. Whilst his releases have matured from his early liquid output into a more diverse\, mature\, and weighty sound\, Monrroe’s ever-present ethos of writing music drenched in authenticity and atmosphere has stayed at the forefront of his productions throughout. \n  \nFollowing releases on Liquicity\, Galacy\, and RAM Records\, Monrroe signed to Shogun Audio and has since released some of the most iconic drum and bass productions of the past decade. From the anthemic ‘Out Of Time’ with Zara Kershaw and ‘Never Too Old’ with Emily Makis to the darker sounds of ‘Warsaw’ and ‘Nothing’\, the dynamic producer has consistently shown his ability to write music that resonates with listeners across the scene. \n  \nA creative through and through\, it’s Monrroe’s ability to craft unmatched sonics in the studio and captivate crowds across the globe with his 4-deck selections that set him apart. As the recent winner of ‘Best Alternative Act’ at the Drum & Bass Awards\, Monrroe is king when it comes to showcasing his signature deep\, dark\, and techy flavours of Drum & Bass. \n  \nUp next for Monrroe is the release of his ‘IKEBANA’ EP on Shogun Audio\, a six-track body of work that traverses both Drum & Bass and 140 and sees him join forces with the likes of Duskee\, Ayelle\, and Sparkz. \n  \nGLXY \nUK drum & bass duo GLXY are creating a real buzz with their soul-drenched style of production. With both Tom and Jon having a background in music—clearly displaying itself in their music—the duo initially began working together during their time at the University of Leicester. \n  \nSigning exclusively to Shogun Audio in 2017\, their single ‘Lucid’ grabbed the attention of BBC Radio 1 legend Annie Mac after receiving its radio premiere from Rene La Vice on the Drum and Bass show. He dubbed the track as a “baby maker\,” which sums up the luscious\, inviting tones in their production. \n  \nFollowing up on their first Shogun release\, the duo continued to deliver with ‘Vision EP’ and ‘Chiral EP\,’ both of which clearly document their richly melodic tones and ability to work alongside amazing vocalists such as DRS and Solah. \n  \nPreviously gracing stages at the likes of Bestival\, Liquicity\, and Let It Roll\, this duo’s selection on the wheels of steel is just as enticing as their production. \n  \nDUSKEE \nHailing from Surrey\, MC and vocalist Duskee is going from strength to strength on his musical journey. Collaborating with the likes of K Motionz\, Bru-C\, Annix\, Waeys\, and Disrupta on record labels such as UKF\, Hospital Records\, Shogun Audio\, and Critical Music\, Duskee has proven time and again why he is one of the most exciting lyricists in drum & bass. \n  \nHis unique flows intertwined with emotive lyrics have undoubtedly been a key attribute to his success. With so much in the pipeline\, Duskee is definitely not slowing down anytime soon. \n
