SUMMARY:Buunshin (NL)
DESCRIPTION:Dutch trailblazer Buunshin touches down in NZ this May! \n  \nHide Club | 172 St Asaph Street \nFriday 16th May | 10:00pm – 3:00am \nSupport from: ikigai\, Indecisive\, Halvzi \n  \nABOUT BUUNSHIN: \nBuunshin aka Ferry Mellegers is a visionary artist. Emerging from the Dutch bass music scene\, his work encapsulates his drive for challenging the norm\, taking over the world one continent at a time. Pushing the boundaries of bass music with every new release\, his style takes you on a journey of emotions ranging from purity to catharsis. No matter where you experience his genre defining sound\, be prepared to feel. \n  \nThrough showing dedication while having started in his early twenties\, his authentic work quickly gained respect and support from Skrillex\, Flume\, Chris Lake\, Porter Robinson and many others. Picking up the pace where Noisia personally handed him their torch\, his performances have left a lasting and unparalleled impression worldwide. \n  \nAfter working closely with fellow visionary artists like What So Not\, DJ Fresh\, IMANU\, DROELOE and The Caracal Project\, he solidified his unique approach to collaboration and remixes. With Buunshin’s remix for Apashe’s “Distance” standing out as a clear high note\, the world renowned music outlet UKF recognised it as one of the most iconic Drum & Bass tracks of all time\, which made him coveted globally. \n  \nTaking inspiration from the fragility of life\, the light that exists in the dark\, the suffering within the human experience\, Buunshin translates musical ideas in a way that reminds us of the depth of the universe. He studies relentlessly\, experiments with new technologies\, welcomes enchanting vocals\, maximises bass sounds and embodies nostalgia; all to tell stories that explore our deepest thoughts. \n  \nAs someone who is driven by his passion for presenting the best\, his upcoming first album promises greatness. With a clear focus to leave a lasting impression in the real world\, his work has already reached the hearts of millions. \n

SUMMARY:Pateras/Russell\, Poltroon\, Zeug Gezeugt Et Al.
DESCRIPTION:Anthony Pateras is an Australian composer\, pianist and electronic musician who occasionally crosses the Ditch. He works across many contexts: modern classical\, acousmatic diffusion\, film soundtrack\, free improvisation\, experimental rock\, and various mutations of electronica. He’s written for leading ensembles & avant-garde musicians\, composing a 90+ catalogue of pieces which combine instruments\, electronics\, improvisation and notation in idiosyncratic ways. \nPateras has over 50 releases on labels including Tzadik\, Editions Mego\, Ipecac\, Another Timbre\, Futura Resistenza\, Shelter Press\, Cave 12 & Improved Sequence. He has lived in Melbourne\, Perth\, Brussels\, Sydney\, Berlin\, Stuttgart & Vevey\, and is now based in Castlemaine\, Australia. \nHe will be paired in an analogue synthesizer cage-fight at the Lyttelton Coffee Company with Bruce Russell\, hyper-local sound artist and unavoidable ‘identity’ round the manor. \nZeug Gezeugt is an Australia/Aotearoa grafted transplant experiment in the making. His software-wrangled electro-acoustic spew is highly esteemed in certain corners of the frequency spectrum. A rare chance to pick the fruit of this exotic species from the actual tree. \nMeanwhile Poltroon (Reuben Derrick on his holidays) brings a wind vibe with afternotes of Ornette\, and a lingering fragrance of ‘hep jazz’. What can we say? He travels the space-ways. \nBut wait\, there’s more! DJs Stanier Black 5 (Come on baby\, do the Locomotive) and IRD will ensure that no moment of the evening is left un-scorched. \n
