SUMMARY:Echo Chamber - CHCH Covers Night
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 5th annual Ōtautahi Christchurch Echo Chamber – a night celebrating our music community as local bands take to the stage to cover songs by other local bands! \nFeaturing a stacked line up of artists from a mix of genres covering songs from historic and currently active Chch bands! This year’s line up is: \nAnand\nBig John’s House\nBin Day\nThe Bohemian Bunglenuts\nCharlotte Crone\nElectric Starfi\nGoodbye Starlet\nThe Mulls\nVelveteen \nSat May 31st\nDarkroom\, 336 St Asaph St \nDoors 7pm\nFirst band 7:15pm sharp \n$20 tickets available from UTR or $30 on the door on the night if not sold out prior \nR18. R.O.A.R. \nThe history of NZ Circle Jerks (which have inspired our Echo Chamber event) dates back to 2005\, when a bunch of Kirikiriroa/Hamilton bands – pissed off at the lack of acknowledgment of their city’s music scene from the likes of NZ Music Month – decided to host their own event in celebration of the Hamilton music community. The event saw local bands playing covers of songs by other local bands\, and it quickly became an annual tradition\, with 10 Hamilton Circle Jerks held over the years. Ōtepoti/Dunedin and Ōtautahi/Christchurch have also gone on to start their own version of the event as well \n

SUMMARY:UNLEASHED: The Drop Before the Beat
DESCRIPTION:A Women-Only Nightclub Gathering for Release\, Voice & Movement \nLights off so the self-conscious can go. \n  \nBefore the party starts… we gather. \nBefore the music hits… we drop into ourselves. \n  \nThis is not a wellness workshop. \nThis is not a lecture on chakras. \nThis is something new. Something needed. \n  \nWe’re taking over a nightclub\, before the crowd comes in\, for an unfiltered evening of: \n  \n💥 Grounded\, no-fluff meditation for real mental release \n🗣 Vocal expression\, scream\, sigh\, shout\, sound (your way) \n🔥 Embodied movement that doesn’t ask you to look good\, just feel real \n  \nThis is a space to release pressure\, not perform. \nTo move emotion\, not explain it. \nTo feel anger\, frustration\, power\, sadness\, whatever is alive in you. \nWe call it a drop\, not just for the music\, but for what we’re letting fall. \n  \nThis is for the woman who’s held it in too long. \nFor the woman who’s tired of being palatable. \nFor the woman ready to feel what she feels without apology. \n  \nNot anti-man. Not anti-anything. Just pro-you. \n  \n👁‍🗨 Lights off. \n🖤 Masks off. \nCome raw. Come curious. Come ready. \n  \nUNLEASHED. \nYou won’t be the same. \n
