SUMMARY:Mokomokai | The Shardonay Tour ft Brandn Shiraz (CHCH)
DESCRIPTION:MOKOMOKAI ANNOUNCES THE SHARDONAY TOUR \nAOTEAROA / NEW ZEALAND – JULY 2025\n  \nMOKOMOKAI announces The Shardonay Tour on the back of their return with Pono\, their third studio album. A slow-burning\, soul-infused project that captures mood\, memory\, and truth in nine rich\, immersive tracks. Led by Manu\, alongside producers DUSTY & GHOS\, the group continues to define their own lane with poetic lyricism over lush\, atmospheric production rooted in soul and Polynesian influence. \n  \nPono features collaborations with Lukan Raisey\, Ma\, Lui Tuiasau\, Tyra Hammond\, and Mara TK\, telling brazen truths and lived experiences. \n  \nFollowing the success of their acclaimed album Whakarehu\, which earned a 2025 Aotearoa Music Award nomination for “KUPE” – Pono marks a new level of artistic maturity. It’s a bold statement: raw\, refined\, and wholly original. In a crowded landscape\, MOKOMOKAI proves that authenticity still resonates\, and that growth doesn’t have to compromise edge. \n  \nCatch MOKOMOKAI on The Shardonay Tour\, with special guest Brandn Shiraz in a city near you. \n  \nFriday 11th July – Ōtautahi / Christchurch at Loons \n  \nSaturday 12th July – Pōneke / Wellington at Meow \n  \nSaturday 19th July – Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland at Double Whammy \n  \nListen MOKOMOKAI – PONO \n  \nWatch MOKOMOKAI – THE ONE \n  \nVisit MADCAPMUSIC.CO.NZ/MOKOMOKAI \n

SUMMARY:High Altar / Tjopi / Dj Combover
DESCRIPTION:HIGH ALTAR unveil an intense crackle of spectral sounds with their sonic form of ‘neon jazz’. This two-piece is a potent audio tool built on a bare-bones structure of rhythm section components and added electronic timbre which alights a crooked path across musical\, religious and subcultural frontiers; trailing vortices with oscillatory behavior. \nTJOPI is Popi Newbery (Tūhoe and Ngati Porou) and Tjalling de Vries. They create semi industrial layers of field recordings\, synth\, sheetmetal feedback and looped samples that provide a sinister soundscape for Popi’s toi kupu and reinterpreted waiata in both te reo and english. \nDJ COMBOVER will play the tunes to conceal our musical bald spots. \n
