SUMMARY:Haven: Boris (de // Berghain\, Ostgut) // Mr Meaty Boy // Cathy
DESCRIPTION:On Valentine’s Day this year HAVEN implore you to get sweaty and saucy for a sexy stomp to celebrate the return of our favourite DJ in the world – the infamous Berghain resident BORIS… \nIt is our absolute pleasure to have the Berlin queer icon back on the arcade floor for the third time and gracing Ōtautahi with his signature playful style and infectious energy – you can’t deny that cheeky grin and obvious love for the music our techno daddy displays in the booth. Influenced equally by the industrial club-land of Berlin and the joy and community of legendary NYC clubs Paradise Garage and The Loft\, he has earned an international following in the queer scene and beyond. This has led to long-term residencies at the likes of Faust Soul\, House of Mince in Sydney\, and at his home-base of Berghain. The last 2 times have been some of our most memorable parties – we can’t wait to witness the collective dance-floor euphoria once again!! \nKicking off the evening we have Cathy opening the floor with their dark wave techno selections following previous sets for Tender Buttons and Queer Horizons. Warming up before Boris we have our beloved resident and 03 community facilitator Mr. Meaty Boy after a busy year of events across Aotearoa and work at essential art space Te Wā. \nHigh quality audio provided by 03 legends Subtle Sound System // Artwork by HAVEN co-founder Marie Celeste \nFREE EXPRESSION ENCOURAGED // COME AS YOU ARE\, ACCEPT AS THEY COME // TOPS OFF WELCOMED \nLINE-UP (ALPHABETICAL): \nBORIS (DE // BERGHAIN\, OSTGUT)\nCATHY\nMR MEATY BOY \n9pm-2am // Saturday 14th February // Galaxy Bar\, 206 Barbadoes St \nTickets are available now via Resident Advisor. \nRespect the venue\, respect the DJs\, and respect your fellow dancers. We have zero tolerance for any racism\, sexism\, homophobia\, transphobia\, ageism\, or any other forms of prejudice in the club. The same goes for any creepy\, abusive\, or violent behaviour\, unwanted touching\, or harassment. Photography is also banned from our dance-floor – be in the moment and respect people’s privacy. \n
