DESCRIPTION:Tāmaki Makaurau post-punk/post-hardcore band PROSA are bringing their EP release tour to the South Island After touring the North Island in December and playing shows with the likes of Dick Move\, Back to the Hillside\, Dead Empire and Late To Chelsea\, Prosa are ready to bring their infectious blend of 80s post punk and 90s post hardcore to the South Island \nJoined in Ōtautahi Christchurch by two of the city’s best local bands at the sublime Space Academy\, this will be an extravagant night of alternative rock and punk music \nPROSA are a Tāmaki Makarau/Berlin based punk band attempting to attain the best of both post-hardcore (Fugazi) and post-punk (Joy Division)\, two genres not conventionally mixed\, hence the dire need for Prosa. Attacking with a hectic speed\, scratchy guitars\, pummeling bass\, hard-hitting drums and urgent yet hopeful vocals\, Prosa are bringing their demanding yet unpretentious punk to the masses with a relentless stream of releases and live shows. \nHoihoi are an Ōtautahi (Christchurch) / Ōhinehou (Lyttelton) bilingual post-punk band who have been making noise together since 2020. Singing in Te Reo Māori and English about themes such as the idea of home\, climate change and more. Their name means be noisy and be quiet (depending on the context). Their influences include the likes of Aotearoa legends Die Die Die and faraway legends Pixies and Fugazi. \nMental Joy are a young 3-piece Ōtautahi Punk Metal band who have burst onto the local scene in the last year\, playing gigs and drawing influence from many local greats.
