SUMMARY:Fazed On A Pony - Swan - Album Release Tour w/ Pickle Darling
DESCRIPTION:Fazed on a Pony is embarking on a nationwide tour to celebrate the release of their new album swan\, out January 23 2026 on Melted Ice Cream and Meritorio Records. \nPickle Darling (who recently released their excellent album ‘Bots’) will be opening the show.\n_ \nFazed on a Pony is the recording project of Tāmaki-based songwriter Peter McCall. Featuring elements of indie rock\, alt-country and emo\, McCall’s songs address the uncertainties of life with warmth\, wit\, and emotional immediacy. \nswan follows FOAP’s 2022 debut album\, it’ll all work out\, which featured “nuggets of genius lyricism” (RNZ). This new body of work will see McCall\, with bandmates Rassani Tolovaa (Office Dog)\, Hamish Morgan (Marlin’s Dreaming\, School Fair)\, and Shaun Malloch (Mim Jensen)\, expand from the Pavement-esque tuneful indie rock of previous releases to include pedal steel\, fiddle\, drum machines\, and synthesisers. While there is a diversity of style\, the album is rooted in the hallmarks of McCall’s music: uplifting and catchy guitar lines that serve the song\, paired with arrangements that feel both comfortable and surprising. Where the lyrics tell a sad story\, the music betrays that it might just be okay in the end. \n
