SUMMARY:Welcomer - Calendars Release Tour w/ Pickle Darling and Model Home
DESCRIPTION:Welcomer are embarking on their first nationwide headline tour to celebrate the release of their debut album Calendars\, out June 12 via trusted DIY stalwarts\, Papaiti Records. \nCalendars follows a string of European shows in 2025 and a self titled EP which was described by Under the Radar as ‘melancholic splendour.. in swirls of harmonious goodness\, each packed with presence and perfectly placed’. Single Nothing of You Remaining was described by Rolling Stone AU as “blending folk influences with strings for a warm\, layered pop sound”. \nJoined in Ōtautahi by Pickle Darling and Model Home \nPickle Darling is the project of Christchurch-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Lukas Mayo. After years of touring on previous albums\, Bigness (2019)\, Cosmonaut (2021)\, and Laundromat (2023)\, and supporting artists like Lucy Dacus and The Beths\, Pickle Darling’s latest album\, latest record ‘Bots’ is a collection of songs that feel like they could only ever exist on scratched CD-Rs passed between friends. Mayo continues to garner acclaim for their ability to elevate lo-fi indie pop tunes with a rounded-out\, clean sound and a knack for building tiny\, thoughtful worlds along the way. \nModel Home are a Christchurch emo and post-rock band whose members came out of the city’s DIY scene\, with connections to Coate and Earn Your Stripes. Formed in the late 2010s\, the group blend melodic indie rock with the confessional intensity of contemporary emo\, creating music that resonates with both local and international audiences. \nTheir debut EP Model Home (2019) introduced the band’s sound. The full-length …And Nobody Made a Sound (2023)\, released on Papaiti Records and False Peak Records\, reached number eight on the New Zealand Albums Chart — a remarkable achievement for an independent release rooted in the underground.ac \n

SUMMARY:Medal\, Psychic Maps\, Negative Confessions
DESCRIPTION:Formed six years ago MEDaL are a three piece rock ‘n’ roll band that have released two vinyl albums\, gigged sporadically and largely maintained an underground presence in the bowels of Lyttelton. This may change\, but probably not… MEDaL : John Billows – Bass (Renderers\, Dark Matter)\, Dave Mulcahy – Guitar (Superette\, JPSE )\, & Mark Whyte – Drums (Into the Void) \nFormed 15 years ago Psychic Maps have finally found a stable line up after relocating from Dunedin to Christchurch city. They spend most of their time writing songs based on sonic guitar jams that they consequently never record. PMAPS: Simon Maclaren – Guitar (Subliminals\, Loves Ugly Children)\, Mike Cole – Bass (Carradine Choke\, Future Stupid)\, Dave Toland – Drums (The Playthings\, Not Really Anything) \nŌtautahi band Negative Confessions will showcase their eclectic collection of wordless and wordfull musical pieces. Incorporating elements of shoegaze and post punk rock inspired from the coastal landscape of sea and land\, the dreamscape of modern day angst of living\, and salt desert plains of adventure. \n
