SUMMARY:Lakeward - featuring Steampunk Fish And Tephra
DESCRIPTION:Lakeward once again take to the darkroom stage\, bringing with them their brand of bass-focused prog rock\, designed to groove and emotionally headbang to. Led by Cam Giddens on bass and backed up by Dean Gibson on the drumkit\, the duo are a must see for anyone who is a fan of bass\, odd time signatures\, and a china cymbal being hit rather hard. \nThey will be joined by Tephra\, an Otautahi post-rock/metal trio that create melancholic and atmospheric music accompanied by crushing riffs\, and Steampunk Fish\, an Otautahi 4-piece built to break your neck whilst shedding a tear. \n

SUMMARY:Rowena Wise - Debut New Zealand Solo Tour
DESCRIPTION:Rowena Wise Aotearoa Debut Tour Presented by The Slack Agency\, Beloved Records\, Remote Control Records: \nThis spring\, Rowena Wise makes her long-awaited New Zealand debut\, bringing an intimate solo show across the motu for the first time. With just voice and guitar\, Rowena’s songs hit with a rare kind of clarity – tender\, point-blank\, and unafraid of the quietest truths.\nRecent accolades include in August\, her second studio album Bad Things Feel Good* became her first to enter a national chart\, debuting at number #4 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. \nFrom Melbourne to Auckland\, Wellington to Oakura and beyond\, the tour celebrates a body of work that holds space rather than demands attention\, tracing heartbreak\, estrangement\, and the knottier growing pains of adulthood with candid poetic lyricism. \nSince debuting in 2018\, Rowena has amassed over 10 million streams\, earned airplay across triple j\, Double J and Unearthed\, and toured extensively across Australia\, the UK\, Europe\, the USA and Canada\, supporting artists including Folk Bitch Trio\, Holy Holy\, Ball Park Music\, Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey. Her 2024 debut album\, Senseless Acts of Beauty\, was praised by CLASH Magazine as “carefully etched indie folk” and shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize.\nExpect favourites\, new material\, and the kind of stillness you can feel in your chest. \nCarefully etched indie folk — CLASH Magazine\nFragrant introspection — FLOOD \nNow supported by the wonderful Sofia Machray from Te Whanganui-a-Tara on all shows! \nStretching out over moody rockers and soft-burning hooks\, Wellington-based indie dream-rock songstress Sofia Machray is an electric take on the singer-songwriter gone rogue. Described by international pop-culture magazine Atwood as ‘New Zealand’s brightest new singer-songwriter’\, Machray quickly won the hearts of music lovers at home and abroad following the release of her debut record\, Language Of Flowers. \nCatch Rowena and Sofia at one of these intimate shows;\nSeptember 24th at the Turner Centre in Kerikeri\nSeptember 25th playing Old Folks Association in Auckland\nSeptember 26th at The Yard\, Raglan\nSeptember 27th at Dawn Oakura\nOctober 1st flying down to Space Academy in Christchurch\nOctober 3rd finishing the tour at Vogelmorn\, Wellington \n
