SUMMARY:SAWFISH WITH JAM JAR & DJ SCOFFY
DESCRIPTION:Maybe for the only time ever these three acts are appearing at the fabulous Wunderbar in Lyttelton. \nSawfish evolved as a co-created musical project by friends old and new from around Whakaraupo/Lyttelton Harbour. Sawfish is all about making relatable and danceable original songs. \nSo if you want to move your feet to some funky pop grooves then get along and see us \nThe elusive Jam Jar rarely ventures out for gigs on stages with bright lights and PAs. Jam Jar are known by some in the undergrowth of the music ecosystem for playing improvised original versions of other people’s songs. The Ōtautahi and Ōhinehou based members infrequently gather to play\, but on hot nights when they do\, Jam Jar oozes with sweet stickiness \nThe night will round out with perennial favourite DJ Scoffy playing great grooves into the small hours. \n

SUMMARY:Cat Power | The Greatest
DESCRIPTION:\n\nSaturday 28th November – James Hay Theatre – Christchurch \nWith Lawrence Arabia \n\n\n\n\nTwenty years on\, The Greatest still sounds like midnight. \nThis summer\, Cat Power returns to New Zealand for a run of special shows performing her seminal 2006 album The Greatest in full\, alongside songs spanning one of the most singular catalogues in contemporary music. \nRecorded in Memphis with members of the legendary Hi Rhythm section\, The Greatest remains a defining statement from Marshall: smoky\, soulful and heartbreakingly intimate. Featuring enduring tracks including “The Greatest”\, “Living Proof” and “Lived in Bars”\, the album cemented Cat Power as one of the most influential voices of her generation. \nTo mark the album’s 20th anniversary\, these rare performances will revisit the record front to back\,  a chance to experience its quiet power\, emotional depth and timeless beauty in the live setting it deserves. \nSupport for these shows will be Lawrence Arabia – the acclaimed musical project of Christchurch-born singer-songwriter James Milne\, one of New Zealand’s most celebrated and influential contemporary artists. Across a career spanning nearly two decades\, Milne has released a string of critically acclaimed albums\, earning an APRA Silver Scroll for his song Apple Pie Bed\, the inaugural Taite Music Prize\, and multiple Aotearoa Music Awards. \nThere are few artists who can hold a room the way Cat Power can. Experience the magic of The Greatest and re-enter the orbit of the early millennium in these raw\, hypnotic shows in November. \n\n\n

SUMMARY:DECEITS Aotearoa tour 2026
DESCRIPTION:Los Angeles post-punk band DECEITS has been building something real from the ground up. Since forming in 2021\, longtime friends Kevin Moreno (Vocals/Instruments) and Francisco Saenz (Drums/Percussions) have self-released their entire catalog\, quietly amassing millions of streams\, selling out tours\, and pressing vinyl that disappears just as quickly as it arrives. Their momentum has carried them from the underground to stages like Cruel World 2025 and across their first European tour\, all while earning coverage from Post-Punk.com and the Los Angeles Times. DECEITS aren’t interested in playing it safe. Their take on post-punk rejects the genre’s colder edges in favor of something more alive\, pulling in the color\, rhythm\, and emotional intensity of the Spanish-language music they grew up with. The result is a sound that feels both nostalgic and distinctly their own: moody\, melodic\, and impossible to stand still to. \n
