Originally from China, now settled in Christchurch / Ōtautahi, Yujing presents a musical journey between East and West, between traditional and modern, between the familiar and the faraway... Yujing plays the pipa, a traditional Chinese instrument with a history dating back over 2,000 years. She plays ancient melodies on this instrument, while also exploring how its voice can reach into modern indie folk and rock.
