Kevin Welch (USA)

Kevin Welch has a career spanning four decades as a recording artist, producer, and songwriter; one whose songs have been recorded by the likes of as well as writing songs for others such as Waylon Jennings, The Highwaymen, Solomon Burke, Linda Ronstadt, Patty Loveless, Roger Miller and Johnny Cash. Most recently. Grammy-award-winning superstar, Chris Stapleton, released a version of Welch’s song “Millionaire”, which went to number #1
Kevin’s vocals are soft-spoken, with a Bob Dylan-esque storyteller’s rasp, a bit of a Randy Newman-ish larger-than-lifeness at times, all while still being restrained and subtle, and delivered with a folk-country cadence…. a down-to-earth telling of everyday tales, an everyman’s exhibition of extraordinary songwriting.
The Nashville expat, who has played East Coast Bluesfest and Port Fairy Folk Festival, and who now calls the South Coast of NSW home, ventures out again.
