Queer Horizons: Matariki Celebration
June 20 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm NZST
$15
Join us for a special evening to celebrate Matariki, as we immerse ourselves in the spirit of Tagata Moana art and community. We’ll be kicking off the night with a poetry evening, soaking in the words of five Ōtautahi-based creatives as they set our hearts on fire and soothe our souls. Our three mīharo DJs will then guide us on a sonic journey through the stars and the swamplands, bringing sounds that will get the mātenga bopping and the waewae stomping deep into the night.
This event is about slowing down, and coming together to connect, reflect and celebrate. We are here to uplift our Tangata Whenua, Tagata Moana, Takatāpui, Irawhiti, Queer and BIPOC whānau, and honour the intersections and solidarity between our communities xx

Queer Horizons:
Our collective, Queer Horizons, organised events for the Queer and BIPOC communities of Ōtautahi. Our purpose is to create an environment that celebrates, empowers and uplifts our people, while building a platform for Queer and BIPOC creatives to express themselves freely. This event will mark our first step beyond the club, as we seek to expand our kaupapa and connect with the wider arts world of Ōtautahi, with the hopes of fostering community between different art practices and scenes in our city.
